Crisis stages and contemporary problems in development of the Russian stock market (Russia, St.Petersburg)
The article defines the major reason of stock market crises in Russia (1998 and 2008) and shows that the crisis of 1998 was called forth by internal reasons, whereas that of 2008 was a result of the global financial crisis. The author presents a positive dynamics in the development of the Russian stock market in the period from 2000 to 2008, the period when Russian corporate bonds market came into being. The article argues that Russian market for securities becomes an ever more important source for investment attraction. A number of unresolved problems that inhibit the development of the Russian stock market are discussed
