EURASIAN ECONOMIC PERSPECTIVE: PROBLEMS AND DECISIONS
Medvedchuk V. V.
Leader of the public movement “Ukrainian choice” (Kiev), PhD (Jurisprudence)

We do not have the right to make a mistake (Ukraine, Kiev)
The article analyzes “pros” and “contras” of Ukraine joining the European Union or the Customs Union. The author presents a system of arguments showing that joining the European Union entails a long economic recession in Ukraine, transformation of the country into agrarian and raw material appendage, and eventually the loss of national sovereignty. On the other hand, joining of the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union opens new possibilities in the economic and socio-political life of the Ukrainian people
Key words: Ukraine, European Union, common economic space, Eurasian Economic Union, Orthodoxy-based Slavic spiritual values
