| The article analyzes the non-linear dynamics of inflation in the Soviet economy. Based on the concept of “social consensus,” within which inflation is seen as a form of a large-scale distribution conflict in the society, the author discusses the hypothesis of cycle-producing role of distributional conflicts in a non-linear dynamics of inflation processes in the non-market economic systems such as the Soviet one. The article concludes, however, that the distributional conflict as the main source of non-linear inflation dynamics is characteristic to various types of economic system irrespective of their political and economic nature; therefore the present-day methods of inflation regulation, focusing on its monetary component, are clearly insufficient | Key words: inflation, cycles, societal production, distributional conflict, institutions | Pages: 73 - 78 |
