Impact of direct foreign investment upon the development of information and communication sector in Russia (Russia, St. Petersburg)

The article analyzes the structure of direct foreign investment in the Russian economy classified according to donor countries and particular branches of economy that receive the funds. The authors discuss developmental trends on the market of informational and communication technologies in Russia, including foreign investment into this sector, distinguish the barriers that inhibit the inflow of direct foreign investment, and discuss the ways of overcoming these barriers
