The use of “genuine savings” index to evaluate the sustainability of development in a territory (Russia, Krasnoyarsk)

The article presents a review of Russian and foreign authors that apply the “genuine savings” index to evaluate the degree of sustainability of territorial development. This analysis should necessarily take into consideration specificities of particular territories, e.g. the structure of their industrial production or the structure of pollutant emissions. “Genuine savings” index helps presenting an adequate general assessment of territorial sustainability, has a high prognostic capacity, and can serve as a basis for explanation, why the depletion of natural resources and environmental damage should be compensated through investment in education and renovation of the basic assets
