| | | The article focuses on the specificities of economic development in the African countries situated to the South of Sahara over the last decade. Old ideas about Africa as a continent of hopeless backwardness and total poverty do not correspond to the present-day reality. Particularly, countries of sub-Saharan Africa have recently becomes a zone which, according to the tempos of its development and the role in the global economy and politics started approaching the “ascending” countries with market economies, e.g. BRICS countries. Africa started actively attracting foreign investors and creates favorable conditions for them.
