| The author conducts a comparative analysis of the activity of The League of Nations and the UNO, and describes internal changes in the post-war development of UNO and offers two ways of its modernization based on the principles of the international law. The article describes the precedents of South Ossetia and Abkhazia and gives recommendations related to evaluations in the sphere of sovereignty and the nations’ right for self-determination.
