| The article analyzes the current socio-demographic situation in the Orenburg region and defines its role in formation of the effective economy of the region. Based on the dynamics of the major socio-demographic indices, the author argues for the importance of more detailed and all-encompassing research of the socio-demographic situation. Formation of effective economy in the region largely depends on the situation with human resources, while its qualitative characteristics play the role of catalyst in the process. The major directions of the socio-demographic politics should include: improvement of the legal basis, economic stimuli, propaganda of the institute of family, and the active migration politics aimed at bringing back the Russian-speaking population | Key words: Orenburg region, effective economy, region, socio-demographic situation, human resources | Pages: 146 - 150 |
