| The article analyzes the dynamics of prices on the primary and secondary real estate market of St. Petersburg, as well as the tempos of housing construction and the change of demographics in the context of the major theoretical conceptions of the cycles of socio-economic development. The author argues that there exist cyclical tendencies on the real estate market of the city corresponding to the economic cycles according to the length of the wave: to the industrial short-term cycles (Juglar cycle), to medium-term construction cycles (Kuznets cycles) and to large-scale cycles of economic conjuncture (Kondratiev cycles).
