| The article undertakes a detailed analysis of evolutions in the notion of the internal environment of a firm, including the definition of the list of its elements and the types of relations among them. Results of this systemic approach are summarized in the form of a sector model “PEST-atom,” which not only includes the most comprehensive set of elements, but allows organizing connections between the external and the internal environment of a firm.
