| Based on the methodology of matrix vector modelling, the authors evaluate and analyze the development of the market for organic food produce in the Ural Federal okrug and the Russian Federation in general for the period between 2005 and 2014. The article emphasized the strong aspects of the regions in the sphere of agricultural production, such as production-related aspects, economic characteristics, etc., and groups the regions into “progressive” and “regressive,” while also distinguishing regions transferring to the production of organic foods. The system of unified indices is used for this analysis.
