| The scholarly discovery of Aristoteles Latinus, made by Amable Jourdain, is one of the leading directions in human intellectual history. This publication presents a new material to introduce the Russian-language scholarship to one of the most significant academic discourses in Europe and America, defining their distinct historical nature. Amable Jourdain collected unique materials for the history of Aristotelianism in the XII–XIII c., and among other things pointed out the importance of the Stagirite’s philosophy in the XIX c., when new intellectual horizons were opening up, as well as new geopolitical and economic realities. This is the period of XII–XIII c., the epoch that inaugurated new ideas on social and economic relations and on the ways of the European civilization, particularly through the convergence of various rational intellectual construction from various regions of the Mediterranean. The article dwells on the traditions and linguistic cultures as components of the holistic knowledge. Aristoteles Latinus (Latin-language philosophy of Aristotle) is seen as the Medieval intellectual continuity and as a key feature of Mediterranean civilization in the global movement of translatio studiorum.
