| The article focuses on the informational approach to financial engineering as well as the institutional foundations of its most recent informational and financial direction. The authors analyze new institutional groups of financial intermediaries (cyber-intermediaries) that operate unique assets, the essence of which still has to be defined. The research shows that on the one hand, from the point of view of financial theory, these are non-financial assets, generating considerable monetary flows through their circulation. On the other hand, from the point of view of information theory, these are informational units. Against this background, the authors discusses the relation between such notions as “information unit” and “information asset,” and introduce a new notion of “informational and financial designing” into the scholarly discourse | Key words: financial information, information asset, informational risk, information unit, informational and financial designing | Pages: 146 - 151 |
