| The article analyzes the most destructive floods on the river of Alazeya in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in the period between 1990 and 2017, discusses the causes and the consequences of high water in 2007 and 2017. Based on the analysis of hydrological water marks, hydrologic characteristics of Alazeya river, and the basic hydrological calculations, the authors define the area of localities within the flood zone with 1% and 10% of water levels. Using the cadaster value of lands under flood, the article defines the index of possible economic damage, which allows for the preliminary calculation of the scale of flooding, implementation of preventive measures to protect people and socially important objects, planning of expenses for rescue operations and elimination of effects of extraordinary situations | Key words: Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), floods, economic damage from floods, forecasting, zoning, calculation of damage, regional economy | Pages: 124 - 126 |
