| The article focuses on the nature of global economy, presents a detailed discussion of its development, including both the evolutionary and the revolutionary components of this process. Based on the principal of historicism, the authors make conclusions on the principal factors that define the strength and the significance of qualitative changes in the global economy. The so-called industrial revolutions are included into the unified process of evolution of the global economy. The article distinguishes the major features of industrial revolutions and present forecasts about the most promising directions of the further development of the global economy.
