The market of merges and acquisitions abroad and in Russia: retrospective and forecasts (Russia, St. Petersburg)
Economic globalization is accompanied by the strengthening of integrational processes, which expresses itself in capital consolidation, emergence of new companies and development of the market of merges and acquisitions (M&A). However, macroeconomic and political instability affects the M&A market both in the West and in Russia. Western sanctions against Russian companies and physical persons dictates specific conditions for the Russian M&A market. The author focuses on the problem of raiding as one specific risk faced by the companies. The article analyzes the global and the Russian M&A market over the period between the beginning of the XXI c. to the first quarter of 2018, defines trends and perspectives on this market, and offers a table of raiding risks.
