| The article discusses the differences in the models of alcohol consumption that formed in the European countries over the last 25 years and focus on the harm for health and well-being of the populations that they cause. Presently the burden of alcohol-related problems such death of cardiovascular diseases, traumatism, oncologic diseases, decrease of reproductive potential are significantly heavier in Russian as compared to that in the countries of the European Union in Central and Western Europe.
