| The article focuses on the major problems arising in research of regional economic indices within the framework of long time series. The author discusses ways of determining the necessary length of time series, which involves their subsequent use for the purposes of economic forecasting. The article presents results of research focusing on the dynamics and structure of investments into the basic capital of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) across various types of economic activities over a considerably long time span, i.e. all of the post-Soviet period.
