The article discusses the socio-economic teaching of Pope Paul VI as it was formulated in the encyclical Populorum Progressio, the apostolic epistle Octogesima Adveniens, the synodal document Justitiain Mundo and the apostolic exhortation Evangelii Nuntiandi, reflecting the reaction of the Roman Catholic Church to the advance of the post-industrial epoch.
