The article describes ways of complex evaluation of the socio-economic development of rural settlements with regards to the regional specificities in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The authors present data related to 389 settlements in Yakutia. The first evaluation was based on the analysis of 26 indices, which were divided into 5 thematic blocks. The second approach in the complex evaluation takes into account the territorial potential, degree of development of the major economic specialization, and construction of the forecast model of the economic development till the year of 2025. The authors describe the basic types of settlements and distributed them according to their economic potential within the economic zones of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
