Socio-economic specificity of African urbanization (case of Egypt)
The article presents a complex analysis of the process of African urbanization in case of Egypt, the largest country of the Arab Orient. The author analyzes precondition for urban growth, connections and contradictions between the city and the village, defines criteria for migrations between the village and the city, discusses changes in branch- and social structure of the Egyptian population, as well as major contradictions of the country’s urbanization process against similar processes in other countries
