| | | Economic relations between Russia and Finland occupy an important place in the external economic politics of the Russian Federation. Already during the Soviet time relationships with Finland had a special status for USSR external trade; for Finland Russian market was one of the most significant ones, as well: trade with the Soviet Union amounted to one fourth of its external trade volume. After USSR collapsed and Finland joined EU, Russian-Finnish economic relations were modified.
