Specificities of formation and management of reserves in the non-finished production (Russia, St. Petersburg)
The article addresses an understudied topic of reserves logistics, argues that reserves in a non-finished production process are components and partially completed products occupying their specific places in the process of production. The very existence of these reserves corresponds to the internal to the logical structure of the enterprise; the “life cycle” of reserve may be described with the S-shape curve. The authors formulate recommendations for a more effective commercial activity which includes management over the aggregate reserves of the enterprise in accordance with logistics requirements
Key words: reserves, non-finished production, partially completed product, meeting the deadlines, outsourcing, internal production flows
