Competitiveness of the Russian economy in the context of the country’s joining to WTO (Russia, Moscow)
The article focuses on Russia’s competitive potential in comparison to the leading world economies based on such indices as the level of interest rates, affordability of financial resources, dynamics of price growth for electric energy, the state of capital assets, investment activity, investment climate, etc. The author describes negative tendencies reducing the speed of economic development and the country’s investment attractiveness. The analysis allows concluding that joining the WTO will not lead to a considerable improvement of investment climate and economic effectiveness; on the contrary, if the existing problems are left unattended, it may precipitate a number of negative consequences
