| The article discusses various aspects of Russia’s situation against the background of fundamental changes in the international economy over the last 10 years. The boom of international prices for oil gave way to recession, ascendancy of China, active growth of developing economies, financial crisis of 2008–2009, the resulting recession in the international economy, first of all, in Europe — all this brought about deep structural changes of the global scale. These phenomena produced their impact upon Russian economy as well, hence the importance of their analysis. The results of the research presented in the article is based on statistical data of the World Bank, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, United Nations, International Economic Forum, Russian Statistical Bureau, and other official sources.
