Ecological and economic aspects of Arctic development and the significance of the natural resources in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (Russia, Yakutsk)

Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is the largest region of the Russian Federation as far as its territory is concerned, as well as one of the richest in the natural resources. Industrial development is profitable for both state and private structures, yet it also presents a significant danger for the Russian Arctic. The importance of Northern natural resources grows continuously due to its high economic potential, as well as to the decrease of natural resources in other parts of the country
