| The article addresses the theoretical foundations and the practical applications of the method formulated by Yu. Akao and S. Midzuno; the authors discuss the increase of competitiveness of the forest economy Pskov region and a case of a hardware company in St. Petersburg. The use of the matrix method in marketing allows for a more objective evaluation of a company’s competitiveness and for determining the future directions of its development.
