| The article analyzes present-day economic interpretations of Weber’s thesis, discusses the economic implications of his “Protestant Ethics and the Spirit of Capitalism,” and distinguishes similarities and differences in contemporary economic research in this sphere. The author discusses preset-day attempts to return to Weber’s thesis from the perspective of the human capital, as well as econometric approach that compares labor-based and social ethics in various religious traditions.
