| | | The article discusses market tendencies in metallurgy and machine-building as important and mutually dependent industries in the Siberian Federal okrug, particularly, in Novosibirsk region. The author distinguishes favorable factors stimulating engineering in these industries, and argues that investment in engineering will facilitate the advanced economic development in general and two basic industries of the region (metallurgy and machine-building), in particular.
