| The article defines the key tendencies of economic development in the countries of the sub-Saharan Africa in the time of independence and the impact of these tendencies upon the inflation processes in these countries. The authors conclude that African economy failed to achieve deep integration in the structure of contemporary global economy, even though the conditions of Africa’s participation in the international cooperation and exchange are currently defined not so much by Africa itself, but rather by its partners.
