|The article describes the role of pharmaceutical clusters for the process of transition of Russian pharmaceutical industry to innovative development, analyzes their competitive advantages and describes the role of innovative pharmaceutical clusters. The author focuses on St. Petersburg pharmaceutical cluster to evaluate the efficacy of cluster development, and concludes that cluster residents develop in a more dynamic way as compared to the rest of Russia’s pharmaceutical industry
