Reduction of working hours and the increase of pension age (Russia, Nizhniy Novgorod)

The article presents a comparative analysis of a number of European countries and Russia with regards to dynamics of working hours per one employee produced until retirement. In Germany, Italy and France the cohort of retiring employees that worked longer time as compared to the preceding cohort, at the same time works less hours during their working life, whereas in Russia the situation is the opposite. This makes one question the applicability of the European experience in the current discussions on the increase of retirement age in Russia
