| The article discusses the current situation in the Western economic zone of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), perspectives for its development and involvement into the Republic’s economic turnover. Based on the retrospective analysis, the author distinguishes the most effective branches of specialization and perspectives for their development within the framework of the Strategy of Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) till 2030. The author discusses the major indices in the mining of natural resources, distinguishes the major economic subjects in this sphere, describes factors of territorial placement of production and the industries that yield the highest economic effect. The article provides recommendations that would help increase economic efficacy in the Western economic zone of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and offer perspective for further research.
