| The article shows that the aim of state regulation of the innovative activity boils down to achieving positive shifts with the use of all advantages of the market economy mechanism, mobilization of the industrial and scholarly potential, establishing a correspondence between innovative development and the requirements of sustainable development. SWOT analysis of the innovative politics in the Republic of Crimea was conducted in the process of the present research. The authors distinguished the weak aspects of this politics that can prevent the effective use of the existing tools and possibilities of the regional innovative development. The article discusses principles that underly the improvement of the state regulation of innovative activity in the region, and emphasize that it depends on the quality of interaction among its major participants.
