| Analysis of special literature shows that the term “digital economy,” broadly used in economic literature, seems to be rather broadly interpreted by many economists, which calls forth a number of questions. We either have to agree that this is a term used by the expert community — or to admit that we involuntarily use the same notion with different economic significations. The aim of this article is to analyze the existing approaches to the evaluation of the share of digital economy in GNP, as well as more precise economic perspectives that allow to more correctly estimate the share of digital technologies in the creation of the new public good. The article is based on approaches to evaluation of the digital economy developed by international organizations such as the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, as well as by the economic regulators in such countries as the USA, China, European Union, and large consulting companies. Qualitative changes taking place on the technological level considerably modify conditions for creating workplaces and entrepreneurship, which in its turn impacts the tools of state politics with regard to long-term economic strategy formation. All these together lead to constant changes in the structure of economy resulting from intensive use of various digital technologies. | Key words: digital technologies, structural changes, economic growth, Gross Domestic Product | Pages: 46 - 50 |
