| The article demonstrates that reforms initiated by the government do not touch the basic problems in the system of Russian education and therefore do not allow it to take a place it deserves in the XXI c. Problems of the Russian education are deeper, and are rooted in the wrong principles of educational process organization, obsolete conception of academic plans and programs, deprivation of the universities of their former role of the “forge of scholarly knowledge,” excessive state regulation and to some extent, demographic problems. The article discusses the major regularities inherent in the Russian educational process and discuss their impact upon the education field problems and the labor market. The authors emphasize the importance of the universities’ academic freedom from excessive state regulation, which would allow solving many Russian problems and qualitatively change the situation in the Russian educational system. | Key words: education, educational system, reform of education, accessibility of education, digitalization of education, professional competencies | Pages: 174 - 177 |
