| Based on the statistic data over the period between 2014 and 2018, the authors evaluate the current state of dairy farming in Arkhangelsk region and distinguish the positive dynamics related to the growth of the cows’ milk productivity in agricultural enterprises of all types of property. The main reason of decrease in profitability of milk production in the region lies in the use of locally-grown low quality forage. Compensation of caloric intake through purchased fodder concentrates entails additional expenses and thus decreases milk production profitability in general. To decrease the net cost of milk and increase the nutritional value of milk cows’ ration, the authors suggest using flattened grain. The article describes the technology of grain harvesting at the stage of milky-waxy ripeness. | Key words: Arkhangelsk region, fodder production, fodder basis, milk productivity, flattened grain, nutritional value of fodder, net cost of milk, animal husbandry | Pages: 189 - 191 |
