| The article discusses issues related to Byelorussia’s sustainable development within the frames of the country’s economic cooperation with members of the Eurasian Economic Union, describes the structure of Byelorussian economy and the level of its diversification, and focuses on the existing problems. The author gives positive evaluation to the practice of the country’s economic planning and shows that the problem of the “average income trap” may be resolved through efficient combination of planning and market methods of regulation. The authors argue that the difference between the models of socio-economic development among EEU countries (Keynesian model in case of Byelorussia and Kazakhstan and monetary model in case of Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Russia) is one of the major obstacles of close economic integration. | Key words: EEU, sustainable development, structure of Byelorussian economy, diversification of economy, planning, international economic cooperation of Byelorussia, «average income trap», model of socio-economic development | Pages: 13 - 18 |
