| Views on the military economy started forming in human consciousness rather early, for wars were constant throughout its history. Yet these views were changing over time, following the development of military equipment and technology, as well as ways to provide security, organize defense and offensive. The concept of security is intrinsically connected to the structure of the society as such, first of all, its political and legal organization and the state of its economy as a whole. However, the question of whether military production is a burden to the national economy still remains open in the economic theory. Probably, the answer is more complex than just “yes” or “no”? The authors focus on this agenda from the historical and economic perspectives. | Key words: history of the national economy, military economy, historical analysis of economy, economic analysis of the military economy, military production | Pages: 209 - 217 |
