| The article addresses Russian economic history of the XX c. and discusses concepts of the Russian economics in 1920–30s, dedicated to the problem of combining the centralized administartion of economic freedom, one of the most significant problems in the theory and practice of nation building. During that period of time scholars developed their views on the future socio-economic order in the country, views on the “New City”. Perceiving Russian history as a living actiality, the “New City” proponetns were searching for a productive synthesis of slavophilism and westernism, for harmony and coordination of the national and all-human tasks. The author argues that these scholars were able to formulate a remarkable and original institutional concept for the future post-communist Russia. | Key words: post-communist Russia, sociological and economic doctrine, present-day reformers, effective economic activity, totalitarian system, concept of the “New City” | Pages: 217 - 222 |
