| The article discusses the collapse of the USSR and the interaction of the new independent states (CIS) within the framework of M.I. Krotov’s article “Collapse of the Soviet Union and Belovezh Accords in historical memory.” The author shows that the Russian people is endowed with the state instinct of such power that it was capable of creating the Empire as the highest form of multi-national state formation. The article emphasizes that any attempt to build a state that in the multiethnic society is oriented towards one nation only is doomed. This is clearly demonstrated by the practice of state building in the republics that became independent from the USSR. | Key words: CIS, collapse of the USSR, Belovezh Accords, security, competitiveness | Pages: 12 - 13 |
