|The article discusses specific features in developing of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation as a strategically important zone of the present day. Currently the Arctic zone possesses an unused resource potential, which should be realized in the nearest future; mainly this concerns natural liquid gas and critically important metals. The chief problem of the Arctic is the greenhouse effect, which produces a direct impact upon the speed of glacier thawing and the general ecological situation in the Arctic zone.|
