Education and scholarship: Together or apart (Russia, Moscow)

The article focuses on the interaction between education and scholarship in their historic development. Development of a university as an institute of knowledge translation demonstrates how the priority of education and upbringing with the emphasis on the role of scholarship is gradually substituted by the utilitarian use of knowledge directed at profit extraction from scholarly research.
