| The article focuses on the sustainable development of territories, with particular attention to the anthropogenic impact upon environment caused by emissions. The latter cause climate change, loss of biodiversity, soil degradation, decrease of agricultural crop yield, and disruption of the Earth’s ecosystem. The authors analyze the history of research on climate change by Soviet and Russian scholars of 1970–90s and discusses their contribution to the international scholarship in this sphere. The article presents a research project focusing on the Baltic region, defining the mega-tendencies of technological changes, perspectives for attaining climatic neutrality and development of climatic diplomacy on the basis of the concept of ecologic geopolitics. Using the historico-philosophical approach, this project thus forms a new vision upon the global values and upon the solutions of the global problems with regard to environment. | Key words: anthropogenic impact, biodiversity, national food security, pandemics, technological change, climatic neutrality, geopolitics | Pages: 196 - 201 |
