| The article discusses five key aspects of the current state of the digital transformation in economy, describes economic and social advantages of the digital transformation of economic complexes, and distinguishes risks related to economic digitalization. The authors discuss specific features of the “Industry-4.0” program, oriented towards digital modelling, and describe the key tendencies of its implementation in the coal industry. Particular emphasis is put on the use of cyber-physical production systems, whereby a typical architecture of the cyber-physical system of a coal-extraction enterprise is described.
