Urbanization in Russia. A Marxist perspective (Russia, Moscow)

The article looks at urbanization in the general context of globalization, related to capital accumulation. The authors distinguish the major trends of urban development in Russia on the basis of large statistical data. One of the key tendencies here is the growth of differentiation of the cities based on the level of development level, hyper-centralization of population and resources in capital agglomerations, and depopulation of peripheral regions.
