| The article discusses the problem of decreasing the number of the poor population, which constitutes the priority of many state programs both the Federal and on the regional levels. Increasing differentiation of the population on the basis of income is part of the list of major challenges and threats to the economic security. The aim of this research is to evaluate the mutual relations between the income potential in the Arctic regions and the level of population poverty. The author shows that three Arctic regions, i.e., Chukotka Yamalo-Nenets and Nenets autonomous okrugs, the leaders on the basis of budgetary per capita income, the level of poverty is lower than the average Russian figure. | Key words: arctic regions, taxation potential, Arctics, level of poverty, budgetary per capita income, differentiation of the regions, Russia’s Northern regions | Pages: 157 - 160 |
