| Russia is a subject of international intellectual property rights protection, and exclusive rights for intellectual property, established by international agreements and Federal laws apply on its territory. However, against the background of the beginning of the special military operation and sanctions pressure imposed on the country, the question on the need to correct the Russian system of intellectual property rights protection in relation to unfriendly countries emerged. The state has taken steps to protect domestic producers from foreign copyright holders, and parallel imports have been partially legalized. However, for various reasons these mechanisms do not work in full force.
