| The article focuses on the need to ensure food and technological independence, dictated by the inevitability of reducing participation in global value chains and the creation of full-cycle industries within the country. The analysis of the experience of USSR industrialization showed that in order to achieve the required goals, namely, economic independence and the well-being of citizens, high-tech heavy industry based on domestic demand should become the engine of growth.
