Giulmetova A. G.
PhD student, Chair of Micro- and Macroeconomic Analysis, Department of Economics, M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University

Trends in innovation and digitalization in the countries with different political regimes (Russia, Moscow)
The article examines the channels of influence of political regimes upon innovative development and digital transformation. The author shows the links between political regimes, innovations and digital development and analyzes the impact of digitalization on socio-economic indicators. The study is based on the analysis of data on political regimes, innovation activity and digital development in various countries. The article demonstrates that higher rates of innovation activity are typical for democracies, but high rates of digitalization are typical for autocracies with a low digital level as well. Despite a number of significant differences in different political regimes, one can distinguish common challenges that various countries, of which Russia is one, may face in the process of digitalization, including climate problems and cyberwarfare.
Key words: Innovative activity, digitalization, political regime, economic development, risks of digitalization
